To help understand and improve SPAD management, the SPAD Risk Subgroup has created a self-evaluation tool for industry to help you to understand how your SPAD management is performing and where improvements can be made.

Based on the aspects of SPAD causation and risk management outlined in the SPAD Good Practice Guide, the online tool considers how SPAD management can be developed across these areas.

The questions fall into the seven categories below and all questions must be answered in order to submit a survey.

  • helping drivers to manage SPAD risk
  • driver management and SPADs
  • fatigue management
  • investigating SPADs
  • managing SPAD data
  • improving competence management
  • managing SPADs during operational and engineering change.

Once completed you will see a visual output which will show you an average across each of the seven areas and will help you to direct your resources to make improvements and monitor year-on-year progress. This can also be informed by the `Focus Area` where you can find recommendation actions to improve scores.
